Soul Proprietor is a boutique animation studio founded in 2015 by Xilia Faye and Ben Luce. With decades of combined industry experience, we specialize in 2D animation for documentaries, short films, series, podcast, music videos, brand design, medical explainers (geared towards both professionals and patient populations) and prescription medical apps.
We are a small team of two people, both on the Autism spectrum who create award-winning content equal to that of larger studios. In fact, many larger studios subcontract to us to get the job done. We pride ourselves on being on-time and on-budget. Passion for a project we are working on eclipses all else. From art direction to storyboarding, background design, animation, sound design and music, we provide a full turnkey product, or are able to step in and fill any of those roles as needed. One of our specialties is quick turnarounds on tight deadlines.
Our vision reflects our values, and 25% of all profits are donated to charities that enable other artists to grow and thrive. We particularly work to fund arts and science scholarships.
Our clients include Nickelodeon, Disney/Marvel, Netflix, HBO, SyFy, Make-A-Wish, UNHCR, Psychedelic Support, Blue Note Therapeutics, LA Times, Pocket.Watch, ESPN, Google, Intel, Comedy Central, Viacom/Paramount, MTV, Amazon, RCA, Atlantic Records, Epic Records, Loma Vista, CMT, Black Pills, and Snapchat.
We work with many studios including Awesome and Modest, Prone, Cartuna, SpiffTV, LAIKA, House Special, Big Giant, and Shadowmachine, as well as many musicians, comedians, and podcasters.
We've worked on several films, including Kubo and the Two Strings, Ascension, The Ride Ahead (My Disability Roadmap), Rite Here Rite Now (for the band Ghost), Marvel Behind the Mask, A Head Shorter, Boy Genius, The American Dream and Other Fairytales, and Moonlight Sonata.
We've also had a hand in many series as part of a team of animators, including Lady and the Dale, Stamped From The Beginning, Bodega Toons (Bodega Boys), Purgatony, The Blubburbs, Winner Winner Dinner Dinner, and Magical Girl Friendship Squad.
Some musicians we have done work for via music videos or promotional bumpers include Anuel AA, Preme, Ghost, Papi Sousa, Raul Alejandro, Gashi, Tanya Tucker, Ronald Jenkees, Joe Hawley (of Tally Hall), Young Nudy, ZaeHD, CEO, Deante Hitchcock, JID, Mylo the Cat, and Sinitus Tempo
